PocketScan

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

PocketScan is a document scanner for iPhone. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: PocketScan does not collect, store or share any personal data.

Your documents

Documents you scan, and any text recognised in them, are kept only on your device, in the app's own private storage. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. Text recognition runs entirely on your iPhone.

Like all app data, your scans are included in your iPhone's own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you have those turned on. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple, not by PocketScan.

If you share or export a document, it goes only where you choose to send it. If you delete the app, your scans are deleted with it.

Camera and photos

PocketScan asks for camera access only so you can scan documents. Photos you choose to import are read only to create scans. The app cannot see the rest of your photo library.

No accounts, analytics or ads

PocketScan has no account or sign-in. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking, and it does not share data with third parties.

Subscriptions

PocketScan Pro is bought and managed through Apple. PocketScan never sees your name, Apple Account or payment details. It only asks Apple whether your subscription is active. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.

Children

PocketScan does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
